Singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh who recently opened up about his 18 month battle with bipolar disorder, revealed that he wanted to spread awareness about the illness. The singing sensation further terms the period to be "the darkest period of his life". Talking about the present Yo Yo Honey Singh said, "I am out and feeling good".

Yo Yo confessed that his celebrity friends had asked him not to make his illness public, but he did so because he considers himself the property of his fans. "I am not my own property; I am not my parents' property. I am my fans` property. I want to tell everyone how this thing captures you and kills you everyday. I don`t want this to happen to anybody," he quoted.

Rubbishing rumours about him missing from the scene, he adds, "I've never been to any rehab. I was in my house in Noida throughout. My treatment took place in Noida itself."

Yo Yo credits his family for his recovery. He said, "I will keep doing what I was doing. I am out of it, and I am feeling great. My family is the main reason that I'm back. I used to be scared to talk to people, even while speaking to them over the phone. I wasn`t able to watch TV or listen to the radio. A person like me, who used to perform in front of 40,000 people, would get scared of four-five people. I was an alcoholic, and I asked the doctor if it was the reason for the disorder. He said it could happen to anybody."

Speaking about his alleged tiff with Shah Rukh Khan, he said, "Nothing like that ever happened. He loves me like a younger brother."

Yo Yo Honey Singh is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming Punjabi film. The singing Superstar recently released the first track of his film. The song titled 'Raat Jashan di' has received tremendous response and had been a rage on social media too.
