'Yatra 2,' the sequel to the biopic centered on the former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, delves into his remarkable journey, from his iconic walkathon to his victory in the 2004 polls. Released in 2019, just prior to the elections, the film infused a wave of optimism within the YSRCP. Now, Mahi V Raghav is set to unleash 'Yatra 2,' with the aim of catapulting the YSRCP back into power and propelling Chief Minister Jagan's political career to new heights.
The film's production is in full swing, and it is scheduled for release on February 8, 2024, right before the pivotal Andhra Pradesh elections. 'Yatra 2' boasts an intriguing ensemble cast, with Malayalam superstar Mammootty reprising his role as the former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy, and Tamil actor Jiiva stepping into the shoes of his son, Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Bollywood luminary Mahesh Manjrekar takes on the challenging role of TDP chief and opposition leader, Chandra Babu Naidu. The spotlight now shifts to the eagerly anticipated portrayal of the influential Congress president, Sonia Gandhi. It is now revealed that the makers have chosen the accomplished German actress Suzanne Bernert for this pivotal role.
Suzanne Bernert, known for her work in projects such as 'Ramdhanu - The Rainbow,' 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.,' and television serials like '7 RCR' and 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay,' has received acclaim and nominations for her performance in Colors TV's historical series 'Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat' as Queen Helena.
Playing Sonia Gandhi is not new to Suzanne, as she has previously portrayed the former Congress President in the television series '7 RCR' and in the Hindi film 'The Accidental Prime Minister.' She has also enacted this role in a television series titled 'Pradhanmantri.' Suzanne's multilingual fluency in French, Italian, English, German, Spanish, Hindi, Marathi, and Bengali adds depth to her portrayal.
'Yatra 2' is being produced with prestige and excellence by Three Autumn Leaves and V Celluloids. This highly anticipated sequel aims to continue the legacy of the first film and create a buzz in the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh.
