'KGF', directed by Prashanth Neel, stars Sandalwood actor Yash in the lead role. The period film, set in the '70s, will be hitting the screens in 5 languages, including Telugu.
Yash is on the cusp of increasing his profile in non-Kannada languages with 'KGF'. The son of a bus driver and a homemaker, he started out as a stage artist. He went on to bag small roles in serials, only to graduate to lead roles in TV soaps.
"When Yash left Mysore with the aim of making it big in the film industry, not many believed in him. But he has made it to this position with his dint. Yash has always believed in encouraging new talent and has worked with newcomers in recent past," a source says. The much-happening Kannada actor has delivered six hits in a row, with three of them becoming industry hits, a report says. He is the first Kannada actor to pull off the feat of having a simultaneous release in 5 languages.
Like only a few superstars like Mahesh Babu, he carries out welfare activities. For example, through his NGO Yasho Marga, Yash is providing water to 250 villages.
As for 'KGF', it stars Srinidhi Shetty, Ramya Krishna and others. Tamannaah Bhatia has done a special song. Its theatrical trailer will be unveiled on October 14, while the film will be released on Nov 16.
