'Yashoda' has taken a good opening at the box office, if its Day 1 collections are any indication. The medical crime thriller, marketed also as a survival thriller, has substantiated Samantha Ruth Prabhu's box-office stamina.
Directors Hari and Harish relied on the writing prowess of the film's dialogue writers: Pulagam Chinnarayana and Dr. C Bhagya Lakshmi, both of whom come from a journalism background. Besides having a strong grounding in literature and the history of Telugu cinema, the Pulagam-Bhagya Lakshmi duo is also well-versed in dramas. Their focused writing has immensely helped elevate some portions of 'Yashoda'.
In a pre-release interview, the directors lauded Bhagya Lakshmi, one of the few woman writers in Tollywood, for lending a touch of female perspective to the film. 'Yashoda' is essentially a female-centric thriller involving wannabe mothers.
The dialogue writers have been lauded by the viewers for penning sharp lines in the flashback episode involving Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and other key characters.
'Yashoda', produced by S Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies, is a pan-India movie. Its music is by Mani Sharma.
