Young director Vijay Thanagayan has shot a pilot film titled 'Yennai Maatrum Kadhaley' starring Yashika Anand as the female lead and Deepak Paramesh as the protagonist. Looks like its a story that uses the period paradox of the British rule and equates that to the current situation of Tamil Nadu politics in an interesting manner.

What strikes about 'Yennai Maatrum Kadhaley' is the authentic camera work that transports to the period and the powerful dialogues. The theme of the film seems to be the eternal war between the mighty and the oppressed and how the latter keeps the former under his shackles in all times of history. The love portions between Yashika and Deepak's characters must have a strong bearing on the story as the title suggests.
