We have film called Kanaka` that is on floor in R Chandru direction with Dhuniya Vijay playing title role. The Kanaka is of prominence in this Rama Dhanya` of TN Nagesh direction because of the film is based on philosopher Kanaka Dasa. The philosopher, poet, composer lived in the period of 1509 to 1609 in Karnataka.

Kanakadasa`s Ramadhanya Charitre` is a rare work on class struggle. This was converted to stage play by Basavaraj and KSDL Chandru directed this on stage attained accolades. This play Rama Dhanya` was staged more than 70 times remembers KSDL Chandru.

Yashas a good looking actor from Yuga Yugagale Saagali` days is playing the Kanakadasa role. In the past Dr Rajakumar played title role in Kanakadasa` Kannada cinema.

The Rama Dhaanya` is semi historical film. It has three stages tucked in the narration of director TN Nagesh. Watching one of the shows of Rama Dhaanya` at Ravindra Kalakshetra four years ago Nagesh evinced interest in making this as a film.

The stages are Kanakadasa period, Sri Ramachandra time and the present generation are tucked in this film. Basavaraja has made this script and screenplay. Desi Mohan is scoring music, Benaka Raju behind camera and Vadiraj is designer of the film.

Venatesh is producer of this interesting film and Desi Mohan is bringing some of the poems of legendary Kanakadasaru.
