Everyone's talking about Yash Chopra's directorial venture "Veera-Zaara". It stars Shah Rukh Khan as an Indian boy and Preity Zinta as a Pakistani belle who are caught in a forbidden love relationship during the 1980s.

Rani Mukherjee plays a cameo as the girl who brings the lovers together. Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Manoj Bajpai feature in guest appearances.

The biggest highlight of the film is the unused tunes of composing genius Madan Mohan which have been transcreated by his son Sanjeev Kohli for Yash Chopra's film.

At 75, Lata Mangeshkar, who sings almost all the songs, sounds 17. Said Amitabh Bachchan, "When I first heard the songs I couldn't believe they were recorded now. Lataji sounds so fresh and melodious like she did in Madan Mohan's evergreens in the 1950s and 60s!"

The Chopras are so confident about the soundtrack that they're marketing it under their own label. The music is scheduled for release Sep 18, a week ahead of Chopra and Lata's birthday.
