Yash a much lesser known Kannada star five years ago is today a huge pan Indian superstar thanks to the monstrous blockbusters 'KGF' and 'KGF 2' directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films. Though 'KGF 3' has already been announced to begin in the near future there was suspense as to who will direct Yash's very next film.

Now the hot news is coming in that Geetu has been confirmed as the director of 'Yash 19' and that the shooting will begin on December 23rd. Mohandas, hailing from Kerala started her career as a child actress in Malayalam films and also found fame in Tamil starring in Fazil's 'En Bommukutty Ammavuku' in Tamil costarring Sathyaraj and Raghuvaran.

As a young actress Geetu after playing the lead in several Malayalam films starred in the Tamil film 'Nala Damayanthi' directed by Mouli, produced by Kamal Haasan and costarring R. Madhavan. She also played the main lead in K. Balachander's swan song 'Poi'.

Geetu's biggest passion was film directing and after making many acclaimed short films she helmed the highly praised 'Moothon' starring Nivin Pauly in a riveting role. She won - Global filmmaking award for story in Sundance Film Festival 2016. She also won two National Awards for 'Liar's Dice' her Hindi film.

The fact that Geetu Mohandas a female filmmaker known for art house films is helming the mega commercial hero Yash has created a sensation in the pan Indian film industry. The official announcement is expected any time soon.
