It is very easy for celebs to land into unnecessary controversies by sharing their opinions on socio-political matters since their words are often twisted and taken out of context. Actress Yami Gautam believes that this is the reason why celebs are often very careful about sharing their opinions.

The actress was recently seen in the thriller flick 'A Thursday' which was set against the backdrop of sexual crimes against women. During a promotional chat, Yami was asked why she doesn't speak about such matters despite reflecting them in her work.

The actress responded, "There is reason behind this. Often the talk of an actor or a public figure has been presented in twists and turns. We are human too. Wherever there is a need to speak, I will speak. I will raise my voice on any subject according to my knowledge and need. You are from the media, you know someone speaks something, people understand something and then ask the third person what is the matter."
