Yamaha launches maxi-style sports scooter ‘Aerox 155’ in India – Power, Features and Price Details Revealed

On Tuesday, Yahama Motor has unleashed its globally renowned sports scooter in India. Yamaha Aerox 155 is a maxi-style performance scooter priced at Rs 1.29 lakh in the country. The new maxi-scooter will arrive at Yamaha’s Blue Square showrooms later this month.

The vehicle is available in two colors- Racing Blue and Grey Vermillion. In addition to the standard colors, the new Yamaha Aerox 155 is also available in Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Editions. One of the biggest highlights is that AEROX 155 is powered by a new generation 155-cc Blue Core engine as the name suggests.

The engine is a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve motor equipped with a VVA and is mated to a CVT transmission. The maxi-scooter produces a max power output of 15 PS at 8,000rpm with 13.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine gets a new cylinder head and a compact combustion chamber for a higher compression ratio, boosting efficiency.

The Aerox 155 comes with a smart motor-generator system for idle engine starts so that the stop & start system boosts fuel efficiency. Yamaha Aerox 155 has an underbone design with a prominent spine section. The scooter’s front compartment contains a charging socket with a port at the bottom for the charging cable to pass through.

Other features include digital instrumentation, start-stop tech, LED lighting and Bluetooth connectivity. The vehicle also offers a large 24.5-litre under seat storage space. The new Yamaha Aerox 155 is designed based on the “Heart-Shaking Speedster” design concept. The fuel refill option is provided with an external fuel lid.

The new model also gets a 5.8-inch LCD screen with Multi-Information Display (MID) that displays speedometer, RPM, VVA indicator and Y-Connect App Phone notifications, maintenance recommendations, last parked location, fuel consumption, malfunction notification, revs dashboard, and ranking. The information displayed can also be toggled via the handlebar switch.
