We do not know whether Aamir is a superstitious man or not, but the whole world knows that he considers the yesteryear show man of Bollywood Shammi Kapoor as his lucky mascot and role model.

Everyone knows that Aamir goes to Shammi Kapoor to get his blessings before each of his film is released and the music of his latest production venture 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' was launched in the residence of the senior actor.

This bonding between the two stars might have prompted the organizers to rope in Aamir to give away the Life Time Achievement Award to Shammi Kappor at the Osian Cinefan Film Festival in Mumbai.

Perfectionist Khan also utilised the opportunity to speak about his favourite actor.
He said that the film industry have two types of actors. One is the Aashique (one who loves) and the other is Maashooq (one who is being loved) and Shammiji is a master in both roles but he is more of an Aashique.

Aamir also told that Shammi Kapoor is an actor who never though about his image. He gave first priority to his work and the audience and because of this the great actor is loved and respected by everyone.

Before stopping his speech, Aamir showered praises on Shammi Kappor and told that he felt Elvis Presley is America's answer to Shammiji rather than the "yahoo" man being called as India's answer to Elvis.

After receiving the award Shammi Kapoor said that he is extremely happy for being selected to get the award.

He also told that he feel on top of the world and thanked all his friends and fans for their love and making him one of the greatest and memorable actor in B-Town.

The actor became little nostalgic saying that this occasion takes him back to some old memories and let it out that he got surprised seeing some of his old photographs taken during his days of glory as a leading man which even he do not have in his personal collection.
