Actress Yael Stone has made the shocking accusation that Oscar Winner Sir Geoffrey Rush sexually misbehaved with her repeatedly during the play 'The Diary of Madman' in which the two costarred in 2010. Stone has said that since they had adjacent dressing rooms the 67 year old Rush held a shaving mirror to spy on her bathing naked in the shower.
Yael Stone has also accused Geoffrey Rush one of the most respected actors in the world of dancing naked in front of her, asking her to undress him and also touching her back inappropriately during an awards show for the same play.
Geoffrey Rush has denied the charges stating "incorrect and in some instances have been taken completely out of context”. “However, clearly Yael has been upset on occasion by the spirited enthusiasm I generally bring to my work,” he said. “I sincerely and deeply regret if I have caused her any distress. This, most certainly, has never been my intention. “When we performed in The Diary of a Madman eight years ago, I believe we engaged in a journey as artistic comrades. Over the years we have shared correspondence that always contained a mutual respect and admiration. “As I have said in the past, I abhor any behaviour that might be considered as harassment or intimidation to anyone – whether in the workplace or any other environment.”.
Yael Stone has explained that she could not go to any officials in the production and complain because Geoffrey Rush was such a huge star and she could have lost her job. However now she has become a big star in her own right starring in such ventures as "Orange is the New Black".
