Actress Yaashika Aannand had started her Tamil film acting career with the Jiiva, Kajal Aggarwal movie Kavalai Vendaam, and was later seen in an important role in director Karthick Naren's debut movie Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru which turned out to be a commercial success.

Following this movie, the actress had did many glamorous roles, and also participated in the second season of the popular Bigg Boss game show hosted by Kamal Haasan. Currently a part of several movies like Ivanthaan Uthaman, the actress has expressed that she must not have acted in the adult comedy Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu.

She said that she is trolled and abused online, and one must not be silent for these trolls, and must reply and shut them immediately, adding that it might be because of her acting in Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu that she is getting bad comments. Yaashika revealed that she regrets acting in the movie and that it was a mistake she did, and that the team shot scenes which they did not tell her during story narration, and that she could not refuse during the shoot. Yaashika said that she will focus on performance oriented roles and reduce glamorous roles.
