Director Deekay, who had made waves with his debut flick, the horror comedy Yaamiruka Bayamey starring Kreshna, Karunakaran and Oviya, later made the youthful romantic entertainer Kavalai Vendaam with Jiiva, Kajal Aggarwal and Bobby Simha. He had recently donned the greasepaint in Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's silver jubilee flick Seethakaathi.

Speaking on his acting experience, the director said that it was tough to act than direct, and it was Balaji Tharaneetharan who wanted him to act. Deekay further added ,"Balaji has been my friend even before Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom happened, and I had never expected I'll act in his direction. Though I went to the shoot after his request, only later I realized how tough it is to bring the expressions and performance expected by the director, and I learnt a lot from Seethakathi experience".

The director also revealed that though he has no interest in acting, he will act if friends like Balaji insist. Speaking of his next movie Katerri starring Vaibhav, Aathmika, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar,Sonam Bajwa, Manali Rathod, Karunakaran, John VIjay and Ravi Maria, Deekay said "Katerri can be considered as my first movie, as I have worked in this movie without any pressure or troubles from the production side and have made what I had narrated. The same was said by Studio green as well. Katerri is not just a horror comedy or an usual horror movie, but will be a new variety in the horror genre. Shooting has been wrapped, and we are looking for the suitable release date".
