We all know that ‘Yaamirukka Bayame’ has been a commercially successful venture. The humorous horror flick directed by Deekay starring Kreshna, Roopa Manajari, Karuna and Oviya in lead roles has crossed four successful weeks in theatres across the state.

Now the details of extent of profit the film has garnered to its production banner RS Infotainment has been revealed by reliable trade sources.

Initially distributors did not show interest in buying ‘Yaamirukka Bayame’ since it did not had any star value. The producer Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment released the film on his own with the help of a few exhibitors known to him. It is to be noted that the film released on May 9 just to capitalize the void created by the postponement of ‘Kochadiiyaan’ at the eleventh hour. The release date was confirmed only on May 7.

However trade sources reveal that the theatre collections of the film itself amounts to rupees eight crores while the film’s making and marketing budget was five crores. More over the satellite rights of the film has been reportedly sold for rupees three crores. The producers will also be cashing in on the remake rights of the film since there is tough competition to remake the film in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages.

Sources add that the ‘U/A’ rated film has been highly profitable despite its inability to avail the Entertainment Tax exemption.
