Taking a dig at the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro, Xiaomi India has officially confirmed that the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro will be launched in India probably during the second week of July. Redmi India shared a teaser for the Redmi K20 Pro on its Twitter page, claiming it “the world’s fastest phone.”
“Someone jus+ announced ‘The world’s fastest phone.’ Oh really? Hold my AnTuTu,” Redmi India said in its post, with the “+” obviously referring to the OnePlus 7 Pro. The post was captioned, “Some celebrations are short-lived. Stay tuned,” indicating that the much-hyped Redmi K20 Pro that was launched in China last month will soon be launched in India as well, most likely during mid-July, as announced by Xiaomi India’s MD a couple of weeks ago.
Both the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro devices offer a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display that has a 91.6 percent screen-to-body-ratio, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The standard version comes with a Snapdragon 730 SoC, equipped with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. The flagship Redmi K20 Pro version comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. The handset comes with Game Turbo 2.0 which is claimed to deliver a superior gaming experience.
The price of Redmi K20 Pro in India is yet to be announced officially, although it is expected to be similar to that of the model released in China. Redmi K20 Pro was launched at a price of Yuan 2499 (around Rs 25,000) for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB version in China. The 6GB RAM and 128GB version costs Yuan 2599 (around Rs 26,000), the 8GB RAM and 128GB version costs Yuan 2799 (around Rs 28,000), and the 8GB RAM and 256GB version costs Yuan 2999 (around Rs 30,000).
