The wait is officially over. Xiaomi A2 the successor model to Mi A1 has finally been launched in India yesterday. Part of the Android One programme, the Indian variant comes with a Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.
 
The Xiaomi A2 which is exclusive to Amazon has its price range starting from Rs.16,999 for the 4GB RAM and 16 GB inbuilt storage variant. The 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage was also launched, but the smartphone will be coming soon and the price hasn’t been announced as of yet. The device will be available in black, gold, lake blue and rose gold colour variants.

The pre-orders for the phone has already began with the sale opening on August 16, 12 pm. 

Mi A2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and comes with minimal pre-loaded apps according to the company. With a 5.99 inch full HD display, and an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC, the A2 is indeed exciting. The device also has a dual rear camera with a 12 mp megapixel Sony IMX486 sensor. The rear camera also has a flash module while the front camera has a 20 megapixel sensor with a soft flash-light module.

The A2 is loaded with a lot of AI features as well. Like there’s a Smart Lens Selection that heps recruit appropriate sensors based on lighting conditions. There is a USB Type C port but no 3.5 mm headphone jack. The A2 also sports a 3000mAh battery and measures 158.7x75.4x7.3 mm. The device weighs 168 grams.
