Debutant director Franklin Jacob made an impressive start in Tamil cinema with the recently released Samuthirakani starrer Writer, which is produced by Pa Ranjith under his banner of Neelam Productions. The film receives positive reviews from audiences and celebrities, now the latest news about this young director is that he has signed his second project with a top production house.

Franklin has been signed by leading Tamil film producer SS Lalit Kumar to do a film for his production banner Seven Screen Studios. Lalit Kumar has produced movies like Tughlaq Durbar, and the yet to be released Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra, and more. Interestingly, Lalit Kumar was the distributor of Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster hit film Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
