As the world celebrates the gigantic success of S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus 'Baahubali 2', the story by the director's father Vijayendra Prasad is finding its way to the people in alternate media. Ananth Neelakandan, the popular writer of Hindi mythological novels has written the print version of 'Baahuabali' and Meera Ravishankar has translated it in Tamil.
The novel titled 'Baahubali Parvam' has Sivagami the character powerfully portrayed by Ramya Krishnan in the film as the heroine. The story traces her life from the age of five when her father the King of Magizhmathi is killed by a traitor who assumes power. She grows up amongst the hilly tribes and at the age of seventeen returns to her Kingdom and with the help of people causes a revolution and ascends the throne as queen. The 'Baahubali' stories as we know it begins after the above mentioned events. The novel is published by Wasteland Publications.
