DMK’s working president M.K. Stalin has asserted that his party would never ally with the BJP, the ruling party at the Centre, in any polls in future in the State.
Stalin made the above-said remark while speaking to a leading regional daily recently. “I faced more crisis in the past one year of my political career, which has spanned close to 50 years, than all my life as my father Kalaignar hadn’t been taking active part in politics. I had many times made it clear and want to reiterate that I don’t believe in (taking) short-cuts to (assuming) power,” he said.
“Defeat in R.K. Nagar is not the DMK’s failure in putting it across; it’s a defeat of our electoral process and our democratic institutions. It is now very clear that money-power and religious-based political would be the two main enemies for us during the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha polls,” he observed.
On another note, he said that he had nothing personal against Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan. “Both are my friends for many years. I can’t comment on their decision to take to politics. In my view, spiritualism and politics ought to be viewed separately but my friend Rajini seems to have a diametrically opposite view in this regard,” he added. He also made it clear that his party would never ally with the BJP in future.
