The world renowned Forbes ranking of billionaires is out and seems like all eyes are on the top richest women of the world. Given today we celebrate the International Women’s Day, the top three names are no doubt an inspiration to us.
68 year old Alice Walton, heiress of Walmart is officially the world’s richest woman with a fortume that stands at $46 billion. Francoise Bettencourt of L’Oreal is at the second spot with a net worth amounting to $42.2 billion and Susanne Klatten- a mjaor stake owner of BMW is said to be the thrid richest with a $25 billion fortune.
The Forbes 2018 Billionaires list had eight Indian women and Savithri Jindal is the richest with a fortune of $8.8 billion at 176th spot globally. Chief of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is the second richest Indian with a net worth of $3.6 billion at the 629th spot. She also has the pride of being India's richest self made woman.
Though most of the top spots are being occupied by women have inherited fortune, the number of self made women has increased to 72 from 56 last year.
