Municipal workers in Hindupur resorted to a curious form of protest against GO 279. They dumped waste collected from across the town in front of actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna's residence. Balayya is the MLA of Hindupur.
Dumping the waste, they demanded that the government should scrap the controversial GO, which they feel is aimed at dismissing the services of DWCRA groups in local bodies. The workers demanded that the MLA should take up the issue with the government.
After the police came to know of the protest, they reached the spot and asked the municipal workers to clean up the mess.
