A group of women activists have launched a protest against the film Keechaka. The women`s association has demanded the makers to remove the scenes which portray women in bad light. They also warned the makers of dire consequences across the state if they go ahead and release the film without making appropriate changes to the film.
'The high court of Madras has pronounced a sensational verdict yesterday that the persons who abuse and molest women should be sentenced with capital punishment. Not only the lead actress, but also a girl child`s character in the film was portrayed indecently.
Such exploitation of women and girl child in the films should stop immediately. We are going to intensify our protest with the help of NGOs to prevent such discrimination and obscenity against women. We demand the director NVB Chowdary to remove such ghastly scenes from Keechaka ,' said advocate Ramya Kumari. Directed by NVB Chowdary, the film has Yamini Bhaskar, Jwalakoti, Raghu Babu and Giribabu in lead roles.
