There’s a lot of money in wedding these days. No qualms about it. Not to mention the money that matchmaking websites rake in setting up grooms and brides. But one woman did not get what she wanted and sued the website and now ill receive Rs.70,000.
The woman had paid Rs.58,650 and stated that the proposed clients were ‘meaningless’ and were not suitable. The matchmaking portal is identified as Wedding Wish Pvt Ltd. The woman had allegedly enrolled in a ‘royal’ 12-month plan. According to it, 21 profiles had to be sent to her.
After hearing, the consumer forum had slapped a penalty on Wedding Wish Pvt Ltd. In addition to the paid Rs.58,650, the portal will also have to pay an extra Rs.7000 as compensation and Rs. 5000 as litigation costs. How’s your online matchmaking going on?
