Women fight over Free Saree Distribution

The Telangana government has started its free distribution of 1 crore sarees for women who fall below poverty line. The distribution is being done to help people celebrate the festival of Bathukamma. However chaos broke as women exchanged blows, pulled each other’s hair and went on rampage during the distribution even as few of them started hitting each other with slippers.
While some of them even burnt the saree over its cheap quality, a video has surfaced online where the women are seen fighting amongst each other even as Police personnel try to pacify them. The State Government had earlier promised sarees for all women over 18 without specifying their religion. The video of women burning the saree over its low quality and women fighting amongst them has become viral since it was telecasted in regional news channels.
