With more and more harassments against women increasing in the country, this recent incident involving an Ola driver is going to pose some serious questions about safety. An Ola driver in Bengaluru has allegedly molested a woman passenger, forced her to strip and took pictures in his mobile.

He also has threatened the lady by stating that he and his friends would gangrape her if she didn’t oblige to him. The victim, an architect by profession had hired an Ola cab to the airport. The driver Arun then diverted the car to a secluded place and followed up by harassing her.

The driver had also reportedly locked all the doors of the car, even tried strangulating her. However, upon reaching the airport the victim had communicated a complaint to the commissioner’s office following which immediate action was taken.

Even though the driver is now blacklisted and arrested, it should be noted that he hadn’t undergone police verification as said by the Additional Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh.
