On Monday actor Suriya was dragged into an ugly controversy by a youth named Prem Kumar who alleged that the actor slapped him while he was arguing with a woman in a road altercation. Suriya denied slapping the youngster but admitted to have intervened to save the woman from the rage of two youngsters who were allegedly misbehaving with her.

The youngster has hence withdrawn his police complaint against the actor. Now the lady has come in defense of the actor.

The name of the lady is Pushpa Krishnaswamy. She has thanked Suriya for his timely intervention. In twitter she has said, "Thank you very very much for telling those two boys not to lay hands on me when they were abusing and threatening me yesterday. Boys were threatening to break the glass on my car and were not letting me get back into car and close door for my safety. Boys were demanding money from me. I was alone in the big crowd facing two threatening boys. They said they would make phone calls and take action.Thank you for stopping your vehicle and insisting that the boys not touch a woman. Your intervention was timely."

Suriya in has replied saying "In midst of all the drama appreciate your boldness for this message!! Respects!! Pls take care! Thank you All!"
