A Massachusetts court has upheld a lower court's sentence regarding a woman named Carter (22), who has been convicted for encouraging her boyfriend to commit suicide way back in 2014. Her boyfriend's age was 18 back then. She was 17.
The duo got in touch with each other via online way back in 2012. They used to chat about a lot of things. The boy, named Conrad, used to talk about his suicidal thoughts. Carter would prod him to commit suicide. They used to discuss a lot of ways of how to kill oneself.
One fateful day, Conrad decided to implement his plan of action. He killed himself by carbon monoxide inside a car. Before the poisonous gas could devour him, the boy came out of the car and told his girlfriend about what he was doing.
Instead of urging him to stop the act, Carter texted the victim to get inside the car and complete the suicide process! The girl has since been tried for "involuntary manslaughter" as per the US laws.
