At a time when hospitals are in the news for being apathetic towards Covid-19 patients and their relatives, the news of Mother and Child Hospital (MCH) at Champak Hills in Jangaon, Telangana, turning down a pregnant woman has surfaced. On Sunday, the hospital reportedly refused to take in the woman, who was about to have labour pains.

Reports say that SK Bibi, the pregnant woman, is a resident of Nagireddypally in Bachannapet Mandal. Refusing to admit her, the staff at the MCH told the woman and her husband to go to MGM Hospital in Warangal. The hospital doesn't seem to have given them a valid reason for not letting them in.

The husband's attempts to get an ambulance through 108 didn't bear fruits immediately. A few moments later, the woman delivered her child at the bus stop just outside the hospital.

Both the mother and her child are doing well.
