A 32-year old beautician named Padma from Krishna district's Hanuman Junction is in a pitiable condition in a Vijayawada hospital.  Last night, someone inhumanly chopped off her two arms and tried to kill her unsuccessfully.

Padma has been living on her own for the past few years after developing differences with her husband.  In recent past, the police say, she developed a friendship with a man named Nutan Kumar, who has allegedly been seeking financial favours from her.  It's believed that Padma is in love with Kumar.  

Last night, when the woman's husband rang her up to speak to her, the victim didn't lift the call.  He came down to her house along with his kids, only to find that a murder attempt was made on her.  

The police are reportedly suspecting the role of the woman's lover.  They are not ruling out the possibility of the husband having committed the crime.
