Famous writer Ja.Ra.Sundaresan who wrote under the pseudonym of Bagyam Ramasami is no more. The writer passed away last night and it is expected that funeral rites will be conducted this afternoon by 2 pm.

Born in Jalakandapuram of Salem district, the writer is widely known for his short stories and novels. His first major breakthrough was 'Appusami and the African Beauty' in Kumudam in the year of 1963 which was made into a series of novels and short stories by the author.

It is also notable that a humour club's name in Chennai named 'Appusami-Seethapatti Humour Trust' has taken inspiration from the author's characters from his novels.
