Cinematographer turned director K V Anand has completed his maiden venture Kana Kanden starring Srikanth and Gopika. The movie is all set for a release early next month.

Asked Anand on the trend of cinematographers taking to direction, he says, what's wrong in them becoming directors. When one becomes a cinematographer, he begins to learn a lot on film-making from the director. Only after thorough training he becomes a director.

In my desire to direct Kana Kanden, I had to lose a few cinematography offers. I had miss out Shankar's Anniyan, Hindi movie Rang De Basanthy starring Aamir Khan and Vijay's Sachien. But directing this film has given me immense pleasure.

Dwelling on the movie, he says, my movie is basically a romantic thriller. Srikanth, Gopika and Prithiviraj are the lead roles. A movie with right emotions is Kana Kanden.
