Wink sensation Priya Varrier speaks on Sabarimala issue

Priya Prakash Varrier, the national crush and the 'wink sensation', has expressed her take on the Sabarimala controversy.  She has taken a traditionalist's position.

When IndiaGlitz asked the Kerala-based talent about the issue, she was forthright.  "I think it's pretty meaningless.  I have not thought much about the issue.  If we have to fight for equality, we have to go a long way back (indicating there are many things that need to be prioritized before the Sabarimala tradition).  The Sabarimala tradition has been practised for so many years.  A devotee is supposed to take a 'vratham' for 41 days.  Obviously, a woman can't do that.  She can't be pure (referring to the menstrual cycle) for 41 days," the 19-year-old actress said.

'Lovers Day', the Telugu version of her debut Malayalam movie, was released this Thursday.
