The promo of director AS Ravikumar Chowdary's recent interview is creating quite a flutter. This is one of the boldest interviews in a long time.

The director, who seems to be in a disturbed state of mind, shouts in the interview that he will kill anybody who says that if a woman wants to become an actress, she has to offer herself to the sexual pleasure of a director/producer.

He took the names of three actresses and asked if they are getting opportunities because of the culture of casting couch.

Ravikumar is hardly the first industry personality to get vexed upon a mere mention of the term 'casting couch'. The moment you talk about it, they get irritated and lament that it's wrong to paint the whole industry with the same brush.

Shouldn't the film industry-wallahs apply the logic to themselves? They are always the first ones to paint the whole political class as venal, a whole gender as this or that, etc in their opinions outside and inside the films.
