The shooting for Sathyaraj's Sivalingam IPS is on at full pace. A remake of Malayalam hit Bharathchandran IPS, the movies stars Sathyaraj in the lead and yesteryear hero Karthik as villain. Directed by Raj Kapoor, the movie also features Swarnamalya.

Speaking about the film, Raj Kapoor, says,'It would be a different Sathyaraj in Sivalingam IPS. He doesn't have any comedy. Nor are there any sentiments. Nor are his repeated lollu dialogues. He plays a rough and tough police officer. Interestingly, Karthik acts as villain and has come up with a stupendous performance'.

Sathyaraj has donned the khaki uniform for over 20 films so far including Walter vettrivel, Ramachandra, Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupadu etc.

He says, 'after a series of hilarious films, I wanted to do a serious action films. Thankfully this has happened. Hope it clicks'.
