Though the opening Friday of 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' may have shocked Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza (despite the fact that no one was expecting a massive start to begin with), the weekdays infused good life into the film's prospects. There was was a very minimal fall in collections from Monday till Thursday, hence ensuring that the romcom had managed to become a safe preposition at the least. With over 12 crores coming in at the close of week one, 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' is fighting it out to maintain it's collections despite three new releases giving it good competition.

However one waits to see whether the film would be retained by exhibitors in week to follow as 'Kahaani' and 'Chaar Din Ki Chandni' come with their own expectations around screen space. Though 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' has pretty much followed a similar pattern as two other notable romcoms 'Jab We Met' and 'Band Baaja Baaraat', both of which had opened on a low note and stayed consistent at the box office due to audience appreciation, it would be interesting to see if it records lifetime collections better than what these two films had fetched (in the range of 20 crores).

On the other hand it was a sad outing for 'Jodi Breakers' which just couldn't manage to sustain itself after a disheartening opening. With weekdays showing further decline in collections, this Madhavan and Bipasha Basu starrer ended it's first week at around 8 crore mark. The film will just about manage to cross the 10 crore milestone which is quite disappointing considering the kind of money that was pumped into it's making as well as marketing/promotion.

A decent outing for 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' and a forgettable outcome for 'Jodi Breakers' has hardly helped Bollywood's cause though which has been reeling with one box office failure after another. The two highest grossing films of the year still stay on to be Karan Johar's 'Agneepath' and 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu'. However need of the hour is to see far more successes, especially since over two months have already passed by with not much luck.
