Will Sridevi give a tough fight to Illayathalapathy Vijay in the film PULI!

Sridevi ruled the Southern film industry in the 70ÂÂs and the early 80ÂÂs and spelled her charm upon both film buffs and her co-stars the legendary actors like Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.
However after 30 years when she returns to Tamil Cinema with Chimbu Deven's fantasy films PULI opposite the younger generation Superstar Vijay there are speculation will she be able to sustain the same magical spell that she did in the 70Âfs and 80Âfs.
Evaluating from the ÂeFirst LookÂf of the movieÂfs promos Sridevi seems to have won half the battle because she looks stunning beautiful in the spectacular royal attires. In addition her pompous attitude and wide eyes sum up for a bewitching performance in store for the audience.
It seems the role of the antagonist Queen Soumya Devi that she plays in the film has been ideally crafted for her and it looks as if she would give a tough fight to the Illayathalapathy Vijay!
The filmÂfs director Chimbu Deven, who has to his credits movies like ARAI ENN 305-IL KADAVUL and ORU KANNIYUM MOONU KALAVAANIKALUM both fantasy comedies has affirmed that unquestionably, Sridevi is the major attraction of the film!
Sridevi too is quite excited by her role and is eagerly anticipating the movieÂfs release. Speaking about her co-star Vijay she said, ÂgVijay is a superstar but I was bowled over by his humility and earthy nature. He is calm and cool and throws no star tantrums as is usually seen when actors becoming stars after one or two films.Âh
She added, ÂgIt was real pleasure working with him. Vijay is truly a gifted actor and the audience will have a double treat as he plays a dual role in the film.Âh
One wonders will Sridevi prove to the dark horse like Gabbar Singh in SHOLAY, who despite an assembly of top superstars went away winning all the laurels! Or will Illayathalapathy Vijay give a befitting reply? What say readers????
