Will Smith and wife Jada Smith to get a divorce after Oscars incident?

Nearly a month after American actor Will Smith courted controversy at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony by slapping comedian Chris Rock on live television, it has been reported that the actor and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith might be headed for a divorce.

As per a report by Heat Magazine UK, tension has grown between the couple over Will Smith’s behaviour at the Academy Awards function. The magazine also claimed that Will Smith and Jada could have ‘one of the ugliest divorces in showbiz history.’ A source close to the couple was quoted as saying, “Ever since the Oscars, the tension between them has been palpable. There have been problems for years, but they’re barely speaking right now. If they were to split, Will has a fortune of $350 million that Jada would be entitled to under California law.”

“It could be one of the ugliest divorces in showbiz history and drag on longer than Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s did,” the source reportedly further added. Will Smith has been banned from the Oscars by the Academy for the next ten years after he walked up the stage at the Oscars ceremony that was held last month and slapped Chris Rock across the face after the latter made a joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair condition.
