After playing Annamayya in 1997, Nagarjuna had no notable hits to his credit for almost two years. He had faced commercial flops with Chandralekha, Auto Driver, Aavida Maa Aavide, Ravoyi Chandamama and Seetaramaraju.

Somehow he recouped from the flops with the moderate success of Azad and again regained his stardom with films like Ninne Pelladatha and Nuvvu Vastavani.

So, Nagarjuna got a sentiment that Lord Balaji had cursed him for donning the role of Annamayya. However, with the pressure from K Raghavendra Rao, he played Sri Ramadasu.

Again he suffered flops like Boss, Don, Krishnarjuna and regained some strength with King, but again faced failures like KD, only to return to his star image with Ragada by the end of last year. The sentiment further strengthened in him.

Now, he was playing the role of Shirdi Sai Baba. While playing the devotees, he faced so many problems. Now with donning the role of Lord himself, what would be his fate? This is a million dollar question that was haunting the minds of his fans.

Nag offered prayers at Shirdi along with his wife Amala in order to prevent any kind of misfortunes.

Let us hope for the best in Nag’s career with the blessings of Sai Baba.
