Will Sanjay press charges on ''The Raid: Redemption''?

Right through his career, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has found himself on the wrong side of the fence with charges of plagiarism looming large over his head. Whether it is 'Kaante', 'Musafir' or 'Zinda', there have been countless instances of him being accused of lifting not just plots but substantial portions of script for his Hindi versions. No wonder, it is rather uncanny to see not just the plot but even the sheer treatment of last Friday's release 'The Raid: Redemption' has turned out to be similar to that of his 'Shoot Out At Lokhandwala'.
"The only difference between the two films is that while 'Shoot Out...' featured the encounter during the day, 'The Raid: Redemption' has a night setting to it," says film enthusiast, "Otherwise the sheer treatment is just the same with many similar points in the screenplay as well."
The ball is now in Sanjay's court to press charges if he wills. In case of that happening, it would be a first in his career to have actually challenged his international counterparts on the charges of plagiarism.
"Sanjay is yet to see the film and may think about the next course of action only after that", informs a friend of the director.
Well, we would like to see the fireworks for sure, though of a different kind.
