Will Sai Pallavi's stardom help Kanam's abortion theme?

The massive success of 'Fidaa' should be to the credit of Sekhar Kammula and Sai Pallavi in the main. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the heroine now has a stardom of her own in AP and TS.
One of her next movies is 'Kanam', the Telugu version of the bi-lingual 'Karu' (Tamil). Also starring Naga Shoury, the film is directed by AL Vijay of the recent 'Abhinetri' fame.
As is known, the film has the theme of abortion at its core. Such "human value stories" receive critical acclaim with all ease, but they rarely (if at all) find a large commercial market.
The makers of 'Kanam', however, may not have much to worry. Sai Pallavi playing a mother in this interesting film may well make all the difference when it comes to grabbing the eyeballs.
Priyadarshi of 'Pelli Choopulu' fame has a key role. Music is by Sam CS. The cinematography is by Nirav Shah. It is produced by Lyca Productions of '2.0' fame in Tamil.
