'Rakshasudu' is heading for a significant release this Friday (August 2). A thriller with a social message thrown in, the film can potentially alter the fate of some important individuals.
Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas has been mired in a spate of flops - 'Saakshyam', 'Kavacham', and the very recent 'Sita'. The box-office needs to warm up to the action hero now. This Friday offers the 26-year-old actor an opportunity to make an impact in both multiplexes and single screens.
Director Ramesh Varma needs a hit at this juncture. He was given the responsibility to handle 'Rakshasudu' because this film's producer liked his 'Ride' (2009). Ramesh Varma completed 'Rakashasudu' in a tightly-controlled budget, shooting it in about 90-100 days. This Friday is quite crucial for his career.
Renowned educationalist Koneru Satyanarayana is debuting as a producer with this film. It was he who first birthed the project when he loved the Tamil original 'Ratsasan'. He first thought of making the film with his son Havish as the hero. Eventually, the project went to Bellamkonda because Havish was tied up with some other film. If 'Rakshasudu' becomes a hit, it will boost Koneru's resolve to continue to make experimental and commercial movies.
Anupama Parameswaran too needs a hit after the failure of 'Hello Guru Prema Kosame' last year.
