Vishnu Vardhan's slick action film Panjaa, was to be released in Tamil for Pongal. However, it got inordinately delayed due to some unknown reasons. Since the movie did not fare as was expected in Telugu, the producers, it seems, decided to release it at an appropriate time.

The news, as confirmed by Neelima Tirumalshetty, one of the producers, is that Kuri is going to be released in Tamil Nadu very soon. What makes Kuri all the more special is that, it is not only the biggest Tamil release in Pawan’s career, but also it stands good chances of grabbing the eyeballs for the simple reason because it is being released after Gabbar Singh, a film that has catapulted him to a new orbit.

"PANJAA Tamil dubbed version is ready and will have a grand release in TN soon!!!" the producer has tweeted. The film's Hollywoodish feel and Pawan’s stardom may redeem Kuri in the Tamil state.
