With her abridged role in Department going unnoticed, Lakshmi Manchu has lost a great opportunity to prove herself, after that menacing role in Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu. The Manchu girl has now pinned hopes on U Kodathara Ulikki Padatara, which is produced by her, and Gundello Godari, where she will be seen in a key role.

On the face of it, her home production, Gundello Godari, comes across as a through Telugu entertainer. The film has mostly been shot in the Godavari backdrop. It stars Tapsee Pannu in a traditional role, while Adi Pinishetty and Lakshmi herself are the other leads. Illayaraja's music and the intertwining of emotions in the story go for the movie.

Prior to Gundello Godari comes UKUP. Balakrishna's starry presence, Manoj's get-up, the huge house set costing Rs. 6.5 cr., go for this name. Provided the concept is novel, the film could well surprise the audience.

These two films are very important for Lakshmi, who has been down for a long while now.
