The question some of them are asking is, whether the Telugu patriotism depicted in Shekar Kammula's forthcoming film will kindle a row. Yes, with the current boil in the Telugu-speaking state of Andhra Pradesh, Maa Telugu Talliki Mallepuv Danda in Leader might end up creating a controversy. With the situation in the state becoming sensitive and politically-charged by the day, and with some commentators using Tanguturi Suryakumari's stirring recitation of the poetic song to push for united Andhra, the inclusion of the song in the film might assume political colours.

The Mickey J Meyer song is one of the best in the album. Even the Leader Instrumental has the tune of the timeless song. It is only likely that the film will also have dialogues referring to Telugu patriotism, as the hero is playing the Chief Minister of, well, Andhra Pradesh.

However, it all depends on how the situation will be at the time of the film's release. Hopefully, the anger will subside and peace prevails ultimately. After all, song is a song and there is nothing political about it.
