Will it bring Anand to its maker?

These are happy times for crossover films ---they have found a niche for themselves with the discerning audiences both here and abroad.

And so it is with high hopes that Sekhar Kammula, the man behind Anand ---- a crossover Telugu romantic comedy, is ready to release his new movie.

Sekhar had earlier made the much-appreciated Dollar Dreams. He sounds confident that Anand, whose audio is already a hit, will find favor with the fans who like their films to tell a story without any fuss or frills.

Like all urban movie directors, Sekhar too is not short of words to explain about his movie."It’s a modern love story that will make you feel comfortable like a good hot coffee on cold morning". Anand stars Raja (Appudapudu, Vijayam) and Kamillinee Mukherjee (Phir Milenge) in lead roles.

The film has been shot almost fully in Hyderabad --- it forms an important backdrop to the movie. Radha Krishnan, who has a strong classical background, has scored the music. Sekhar says that the music is a fusion of raga and orchestration, of folk and pop, based on ragas Sankarabharanam, Saaranga, Kalyani, Gambhiranata, Thilang, and Saraswati with a generous helping of techno, synthesizers and saxophone.

‘You can't stop good music. I expect the same thing with the movie. We plan to send Anand for festivals. We hope it would be a refreshing fare for the jury and audience alike,’ says Sekhar.

Hope, as they say, springs eternal in human hearts.
