Amazon Prime Video, since the lockdown, has been trying to make it big. Well, it is big in many ways but not when it comes to bagging hits by releasing films on its platform sans theatrical release.
It all started with Ponmagal Vandhal, then Penguin, Gulabo Sitabo, and a lot more films which slowly started making it to the digital platform by saying ‘bye’ to the theatres. If observed, none of the films have received praise from the audience. Though Amazon claims that these films are super hits, they have not even given an approximate number of the views that the film has got.
On the latest note, it is known that the much anticipated Telugu movie V also released on Amazon Prime Video and has received a lot of criticism. The film has failed in living up to the expectations of the audiences.
Once again, another the film has joined the list of not so great films that have made to Amazon Prime Video in recent times.
They have recently revealed that they have bagged the rights of Suriya Sivakumar’s Soorarai Pottru and that it will release on October 31st. We must wait and see whether this film will bring in any luck to the OTT giant.
