Venkatesh is considered as one of the Big Four of the last generation, the other three being Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna and Nagarjuna. At at time when the Megastar hasn't had a release for eight years now, Venky not doing films in good number has been disappointing. Speaking at the audio release function of Babu Bangaram, the actor said, "I wanted to cut down on the number of films over the past five years". In the event, Maruthi came to him with this script after Gopala Gopala. And guess what, it has changed Venky's perspective.

"But after seeing the trailer of Babu Bangaram, I feel like continuing to do acting for the next 15 years. I will do films till the time my son Arjun makes a debut," he said.

It was an emotional moment for Venky yesterday because Babu Bangaram marks his first release after 30 years of him being in the industry. It was in 1986 that Kaliyuga Pandavulu hit the screens. "I don't come prepared to an audio function. I don't mentally prepare a speech. I attend these functions just to see happiness in my fans' eyes. I sincerely thank all those who have been with me over the decades," he said.
