Ahead of the release of 'Wife Of Ram' on July 20, Lakshmi Manchu talks about the thriller, working with different actors, director Vijay Yelakanti and more.

The film is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. There are no songs. There are no action sequences. It's not a family entertainer. But it's a universal film, nevertheless.

Genre-based films are few and far between in Telugu. 'Wife Of Ram' belongs to a new genre in its own right. When I listened to the script, I was startled. The story happened for real. That's why I have loved this film so much.

Unlike most films, in the case of 'Wife Of Ram', there is nothing called introducing characters and taking the audience slowly into the mood of the film. The actual story starts from word go. You won't have any time to go in for popcorn even. The pace is quite racy. You will be thrilled right from the beginning. The running time is under 2 hours.

I will be seen as Deeksha, a housewife. She is an ordinary woman. What ramifications did an incident have in her life is to be seen on the silver screen.

This one is not based on 'Kahaani'. Deeksha works for an NGO. She is an orphan who grew up with her Babai since childhood. She is happy with her husband and a sudden incident changes everything. When she finds no social help, she takes a decision. This is the story of a wife.

Some stories are great on paper but they don't come out very well on the screen. But 'Wife Of Ram' is different. The director has got a lot of clarity. He executed what he wanted perfectly. I am happy to be introducing a talented director like Vijay Yelakanti. He is a true cinema lover. He is a true filmmaker. We need directors like him.

All artists who have worked on the film are highly talented. Samrat Reddy has played Ram's character. Adarsh Balakrishna's character is so good. Priyadarshi is not a comedian but a character artist in the movie. But he comes with a tinge of humour. His is a full-fledged role. Srikanth Iyer garu has given the best performance in the movie. People will be bowled over watching him.

I can say that this is the first-of-its-kind movie in Telugu. The audience will be thrilled totally.
