Ever since the news spread that Superstar Rajinikanth was hospitalised, his Bollywood counterpart and close friend Amitabh Bachchan has been in constant touch with the top actor’s family.

In fact, it is the Big B of Hindi film industry who recommended Rajinikanth to go to Singapore for treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Remember the Rajini-Amitabh friendship goes back a long way, to the 1983 hit ‘Andhaa Kaanoon’.

“I’ve been talking to Rajini and his wife Latha on his condition and on his welfare regularly. Latha wanted to take him out and asked me to recommend a destination. Of the many options that came up, I suggested Singapore,” Amitabh said.

Not only did he recommend the hospital but also personally spoke to the doctors there. “All lovers of Rajinikanth it has been disturbing to learn of his hospitalisation. I have spoken to him and been in touch with wife. Rajinikanth is improving gradually,” Amitabh said.
